Volunteer & Sponsorship Opportunities

Volunteer Application

We are always looking for faithful and dedicated volunteers to assist with programs and events at the park. We understand that value of time cannot be measured which is why we appreciate every member in the community that takes to the time to give back for the greater good of the community. If you are interested in join the Dolton Park District team please complete and return the volunteer application to the Allen T. Sheard Administration Building.

Commitment Programs

  • Adopt-A-Park Program 
    • The program is designed to encourage the community to work hands-on to help keep Dolton’s parks clean, safe, and attractive. The program offers the opportunity for people to get more involved in their community in a way that promotes civic pride, appreciation, and awareness. When a group adopts a park from the Dolton Park District, the organization’s members pick up litter, report vandalism, make recommendations to improve the park’s amenities, general maintenance, and keep an eye on the park.
  • Pledge for Success
    • The goal of the program is:
      • To provide a wide range of recreational programs and activities tailored to the needs of age groups.
      • To expand and improve all park and recreational facilities throughout the community.
      • To work closely with local, county, state, township, and federal agencies to provides addition resources to the Dolton Park District.

Donation Campaigns

  • Help You, Help Us, Help the Community Catalog Advertising Campaign
    • Business selects from four different page sizes and prices for their ads to be placed in our seasonal catalog that will reach over 8,000 residents. The funding from those ads goes towards a hardship fund for our seasonal programs to help alleviate the cost. This will supply a discount towards a family in need that cannot afford the entire tuition.
  • Banner Campaign
    • Companies can purchase a banner to be hung in the William “Bill” Shaw Recreation Center for one year. Funding goes towards recreation programs and events.
  • Brick-by-Brick Campaign
    • Customers can purchase an 8×8 brick to be engraved and placed on the patio of the Lester L. Long Fieldhouse. Funding goes towards affordable programing.
